Requirements
- Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting (Act 31) — 2 hours
- Pharmaceuticals (therapeutics-certified licensees) — 6 hours
- Glaucoma pharmaceuticals (glaucoma-certified licensees) — 4 hours
- General CE — 18 hours
Important Information
Optometrists in Pennsylvania need to complete a total of 30 hours of continuing education every two years, including two hours of Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting (Act 31), six hours of Pharmaceuticals (therapeutics-certified licensees), and four hours of Glaucoma pharmaceuticals (glaucoma-certified licensees); the rest can be general CE of your choosing.
Renewal periods in Pennsylvania run two years and end on November 30 for every licensee. Complete all required hours before that date.
