- Ocular pathology or pharmacology — 24 hours
- Pain management/opioid use/addiction (DEA-registered licensees only)* — 2 hours
- General CE — 16 hours

Important Information
Optometrists in Alaska need to complete a total of 40 hours of continuing education every two years, 24 hours of which are in Ocular pathology or pharmacology, and the rest can be general CE of your choosing. A few additional topics apply only in certain situations — see the asterisked items above.
Renewal periods in Alaska run two years and end on December 31 for every licensee. Complete all required hours before that date.
