- Medical errors — 2 hours
- Florida laws and rules (jurisprudence) — 2 hours
- Transcript-quality pharmacology/ocular disease (certified ODs only)* — 6 hours
- Controlled substances (DEA-registered licensees only)* — 2 hours
- General CE — 26 hours

Important Information
Optometrists in Florida need to complete a total of 30 hours of continuing education every two years, including two hours of Medical errors and two hours of Florida laws and rules (jurisprudence); the rest can be general CE of your choosing. A few additional topics apply only in certain situations — see the asterisked items above.
Renewal periods in Florida run two years and end on February 28 for every licensee. Complete all required hours before that date.
